Royal shopping decisions

Tonight socialist candidate Segolene Royal told an audience that she is against the construction of a second aircraft carrier, and would instead spend the same money on French education.

"the means, we will find them bus when I intend the candidate UMP to ask for the construction of a second aircraft carrier, I am not favorable there.

If the nation is able to release the cost of a second aircraft carrier, I make here of it the oath, this room for additional manoeuvre, this value there, will not go to national Defense but will go to national education.

I will maintain unchanged the effort of defense national, but I will not engage the construction of a second aircraft carrier because I consider that this effort must be done within the framework of the emergence of a European defense."

The French now only have a single serving carrier, the Charles De Gaulle, which was launched in 1992.
